Navid Nuur MONO NO AWARE NESS
ナヴィッド・ヌール「モノ ノ アワレ ネス」
soda is pleased to present the first solo exhibition in Japan of Netherlands-based artist Navid Nuur. The exhibition, titled “MONO NO AWARE NESS” after the Japanese idiom mono no aware (lit. “the pathos of things”), will comprise new works made using marbling techniques, ceramic objects, sculpture, and participatory pieces that utilize soda’s space, taking the everchanging motif of water as key element. It will surely provide viewers with a multilayered experience of Nuur’s world, both visually and experientially.
sodaは、オランダ在住のアーティスト、ナヴィッド・ヌールの日本では初めてとなる個展を開催いたします。
日本語の「もののあわれ」からくる「MONO NO AWARE NESS」と題された本展では、常に姿を変える「水」という要素をキーとして、マーブリング技術を使った新作、陶器作品、立体作品、そして、sodaの空間を使った参加型の作品などで構成されます。鑑賞者は、視覚的にも、そして体験的にも、ヌールの世界を重層的に経験することになるでしょう。
Born 1976 in Teheran. Lives and works in The Hague, Netherlands. Nuur studied at the Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam and Plymouth University. Nuur’s work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at international institutions including the Kunstmuseum Den Haag, The Hague; Marta Herford Museum, Herford (both 2020); NDSM Werf, Amsterdam (2019); Be-Part, Platform for Contemporary Art, Waregem (2017); DCA Dundee Contemporary Arts; Trafó House of Contemporary Arts, Budapest (both 2014); Bonnefanten Museum, Maastricht; Parasol Unit, London (both 2013); Matadero, Madrid (2012); Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen (2011); Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst, Ghent; Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kassel; and De Hallen Museum, Haarlem (all 2009). Works by Navid Nuur are held in major public collections including the Bonnefanten Museum, Maastricht; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Frans Hals Museum, Haarlem; Kunsthaus Zürich; Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, Berlin; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst, Ghent; and the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, among others.
1976年テヘラン生まれ。オランダ、ハーグ在住。Piet Zwart Institute, RotterdamとPlymouth Universityで学ぶ。
